The Olsen Twins' Outfits May Be Simple, but Their Shoes Are Anything But

The Olsen twins made a rare red carpet appearance on Wednesday night when they attended the WSJ Magazine 2018 Innovator Awards in NYC. As ever, the twins opted for a pared-down look, in perfectly coordinated black and white outfits. Mary-Kate wore a long charcoal-hued coat over dress pants, while Ashley sported Winter white in an oversize sweater and maxi skirt. However, while their outfits were simple, their shoe choices were not.

Mary-Kate, who's no stranger to statement shoes, added a pop of color to her menswear-inspired ensemble by finishing her look with one of the season's hottest footwear trends: snakeskin boots. Hers were bright red with contrasting black heels. Ashley, meanwhile, picked a more traditional pump, but she gave it a chic twist with sheer mesh panels that gave the impression of a D'Orsay style without the actual need for cutaways.
