You’ve probably heard of Moroccanoil, the brand that burst onto the hair care scene ten years ago with its argan oil-infused treatments. But while predominantly known for the hair products that inspired a multitude of copy cats, the company has also spent the past decade using their success to expand into the world of body products, which was a natural next step says co-founder Carmen Tal. “Our customers loved our oil-infused haircare products so much, they wanted to have the complete Moroccanoil experience from head to toe,” she says. That demand resulted in a comprehensive lineup which now includes everything from exfoliators to oils to lotions, all tied together by the inclusion of their signature antioxidant-rich argan oil.
Now comes their Night Body Serum, which Tal considers an evolution of their previous body oils; they already offer a Dry Body Oil, Pure Argan Oil and Shimmering Body Oil. But this product is a little different. “The formula is specifically targeted to work during the nighttime recovery process when the skin is most active,” says Tal. With cell regeneration happening up to three times faster during the night, overnight treatments have become a popular option in the beauty industry. And serums—with their concentrated formulas and deeper penetrative abilities—are poised to harness those overnight benefits.
The formula for this newest addition is achieved through a blend of ingredients: argan oil is joined by antioxidant-rich Tsubaki oils, which help firm and nourish the skin, Vitamin C, to provide a boost of radiance, and holy basil extracts, which protect against environmental aggressors. And while pre-bed products are not always ideal for climbing into sheets if they leave a sticky or oily skin we can report that the serum dried down to a soft velvety finish and we were able to drift away, safe in the knowledge of its full absorption.
