Kanye West Wore a $43 Jacket to the Met Gala

This year's Met Gala theme, Camp: Notes on Fashion, sought to combine pop culture and high art, giving attendees the opportunity to go all out with extravagant, over-the-top, and outrageous looks. While celebrities like Lady Gaga clearly camped out with four outfit changes over the course of a 15-minute-long red carpet walk, Kanye West diverged from the theme and kept it simple. His look? A $43 Dickies Eisenhower Jacket, black slacks, and black work boots.

Kanye is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of Met Gala attire. In 2016, the rapper wore a pair of ripped jeans and a plain white t-shirt to fashion's biggest night of the year. This time, Kanye was merely a backdrop to Kim Kardashian, who wore a custom Thierry Mugler dress dripping in crystals to emulate Sophia Loren's wet dress from the 1957 film Boy on a Dolphin.
