7 Katie Holmes Outfits I Plan on Wearing in My 40s

In case you haven't heard, Katie Holmes is having a breakout style year. Ever since those photos of her wearing that Khaite cashmere bra-and-cardigan set went viral, Holmes has really stepped things up, wearing one stylish yet accessible ensemble after another. As an actress, mom, NYC dweller, and now burgeoning style star, Holmes needs outfits that can accommodate her busy schedule.

She wears a lot of denim, walkable heels, and chic outerwear to pull it all together, which are easy things to work into one's wardrobe. And while many of her looks are designer, I noticed she makes a point to incorporate well-priced items from the likes of Mango and Zara, to name a couple of her affordable sources. Lately, the 40-year-old looks cool, effortless, and always dressed appropriately for the occasion, which is what I strive for now and imagine I will continue to do when I'm in my 40s. Want to join me?

Scroll on to shop the seven Katie Holmes outfits I'm keeping in mind for style inspiration.

I love that Holmes is just wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, but with the addition of the cool coat and accessories, she's got a highly stylish outfit on her hands. On Katie Holmes: Khaite Blythe Checked Wool Trench Coat ($2401); Jimmy Choo Romy Mesh Pumps ($750)
Holmes wisely wore a fitted top with her baggy pants. These balanced proportions make for a very flattering look.  On Katie Holmes: Zimmermann Espionage Leather Obi Pants ($1978)
What some would call a wardrobe mishap turned into a viral fashion moment—not to mention this gorgeous Khaite cashmere set sold out. On Katie Holmes: Westward Leaning Moore 03 Sunglasses ($235); Khaite cardigan and bra; 3.1 Phillip Lim Alix Shoulder Bag ($895); Acne Studios shoes
Holmes's suit is obviously a gorgeous designer creation, but it goes to show how beautifully polished an outfit can be with the addition of neutral accessories to complete the look. On Katie Holmes: Gabriela Hearst Mita Blazer ($2800) and Leda Trousers ($1500)
Shop the matching Troia Pants ($390).
Yep, Holmes found the perfect easy fall outfit. The cream-colored pants paired with the autumnal Mango blazer is such a timeless combination. On Katie Holmes: Mango Lapels Coat ($200); Acne Studios sandals
I can think of so many occasions this outfit would be perfect for, from brunch to work to happy hour to a movie date. Just be sure to tuck your sweater in for a fashion-forward look. On Katie Holmes: Christian Louboutin Viberta Red Sole Slide Sandals ($695)
I aspire to look this cool when leaving the gym. The key to this outfit is the monochromatic color palette and the surprising non-athletic accessories that she chose to pair with the track pants and tee. On Katie Holmes: 3.1 Phillip Lim Alix Shoulder Bag ($895)

Next up, 10 fall wardrobe staples women over 40 never forget to buy.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
