We don't throw around the word icon very often, but when it comes to French girl Jeanne Damas, no other word seems appropriate. With her own Parisian style and the success of her wildly chic brand, Rouje, there's plenty to admire about this French fashion icon (repeating the word for dramatic effect). It's no secret that attaining that effortless way of dressing French girls seem to have mastered is something women all over the world spend much more time on than they should, but thanks to Damas's latest feature in the new Mango campaign, we can copy her style at a price point that won't break the bank.
We had the opportunity to chat with Damas to uncover the ins and outs of her fall style plans, her tips for making affordable clothing look expensive and polished, and much more. Ahead, read our interview and shop each of her looks from the latest Mango campaign. If a French-girl fall is what you're after, everything you need is just a scroll and a click away.

What are your tips for scoring affordable clothing that looks expensive?
I always take things a size bigger. I think there is a certain elegance in wearing a sweater or a blouse that is a bit oversize. I also like to wear my jeans not too tight.

What is your go-to fall outfit this season?
An oversized checked coat, basic straight-cut jeans, leather boots, and pastel knitwear.

What are the three fall trends you plan on wearing this season?
Big boots to the knees, knit dresses—they are sexy and comfortable—and I also like mixing lingerie-inspired tops with big knitwear pieces.

Which pieces in this collection embody French style the most?
A men’s coat, jeans, boots, and high heels.
