As we count down the final days of 2019, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming year, including the fashion space. While many of the trends that defined this past year may be fading away, 2020 has some amazing fashion moments in store for us. The S/S 20 runway shows may be months behind us now, but the cool trends spotted everywhere from New York to Paris will be trickling into retailers and our Instagram feeds in no time.
So which ones are our team of editors most excited about wearing? I asked team Who What Wear to weigh in. Ahead, I’m highlighting the top trends we’ll be adding into our personal wardrobes—from the shoes that will be everywhere to the brand-new way to wear suiting, and more. Go on to see the eight spring 2020 trends we’re already eyeing and shop our picks, beginning with what is on my list.
I spotted three-piece suits on runways everywhere from Burberry to Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton, which means there's a brand-new way to style suiting. The fresh take on pantsuits is exactly what I want to wear right now, and I'm predicting that waistcoats will be huge this spring.A common theme on the spring runways? Low necklines with sweetheart shapes and scoop neck silhouettes on repeat. Prepare to see plenty of these emerge in 2020.Seen everywhere from Christopher Esber to Proenza Schouler to Prada, gray is the new must-own neutral that will replace beige."On the spring 2020 runways, I saw so many lingerie references, whether it was corsets, harnesses, or garters. I'm really into the idea of bringing corsets back as a go-to night-out look—think '90s Vivienne Westwood vibes. The chocolate color and witchy points on this affordable LPA version are deeply speaking to me right now.""At the Copenhagen Fashion Week spring 2020 shows, I saw a ton of long baggy shorts from brands like Ganni, Stand, and Baum und Pferdgarten. In fact, Ganni's creative director, Ditte Reffstrup, told me that it's the trend she's most excited to wear in 2020. Consider me sold.""I think suiting will be even bigger in 2020. A lot of celebrities have been wearing Princess Diana–esque skirt suits, but I'm personally into pantsuits, in particular, right now. This white pantsuit from Danish brand By Malene Birger is sharp and totally classic. I would go for a monochrome look and pair it with white shoes and bag. So fresh and so clean.""I saw so many inventive uses of knits on the spring runways, especially in the form of really unique dresses. I can't wait to shop them when they come out, but for now, I may opt for this one by Christopher Esber."“Ready or not, tube tops are coming back along with a trove of other ’90s-inspired trends that I can’t wait for.”"Your grandma's '60s wallpaper prints are in for spring 2020! Retro prints ruled the runways—from vintage florals to psychedelic colors and graphic prints. I, for one, can't wait to add some eclectic-chic pieces to my spring wardrobe.""The leather trend continues to reign supreme into 2020—particularly refreshing, colorful iterations that move away from tried-and-true black. These chic Bermuda shorts are the perfect piece to get me initiated.""There were so many cool bralette looks on the S/S 20 runways, and while it may be a little too exposed for me, I'd definitely try it with a jacket and something high-waisted. (Shout-out to Katie Holmes and her viral cashmere bra moment earlier this year.)""I’m dying for a leather blazer like this new Sandro one for 2020. I’ll layer it over turtlenecks for now and over dresses come spring.""From Staud to Area to Tibi, platforms invaded the spring runways, and it has me convinced that they're going to be one of the biggest shoe trends for next year. As a trend-aware fashion editor, you can bet I'll be testing out the trend at the first chance I get.""I'm ready to put aside my animal prints this year in favor of the psychedelic-inspired swirls that look a lot like the pattern you'd find in a block of marble. I'm eyeing one of the party-ready dresses from 16Arlington for my next night out.""Leather is usually reserved for fall and winter, but I can't wait to test out the colorful, lighter-weight styles in 2020—similar to the silhouettes showcased at Bottega Veneta and Marni."I typically wear sneakers and ankle boots, but I'm interested in testing out the elevated loafers that were all over the S/S 2020 runways from Prada to Louis Vuitton. I love the block-heel iterations, but I'll probably start with a classic silhouette that has a chunky sole."
If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
