4 Holiday Lingerie Trends That Are Blowing Up (and One to Skip)

When it comes to lingerie, which trends are worth paying attention to and which ones are worth ignoring right now? As it turns out, we can narrow the important holiday lingerie trends down to just four that are worthy of investing in, according to Agent Provocateur’s creative director, Sarah Shotton. We chatted with the lingerie expert about exactly which holiday lingerie trends are about to blow up, and her recommendations are spot-on.

From the revival of slip dresses to the rise of corsets to the trend of wearing bras as tops, there are plenty of pieces to add to your wardrobe at the moment and ways to wear them. The one she isn’t recommending buying right now? Minimal triangle tops, which she is seeing replaced by intricate lingerie. Ahead, read more about the lingerie trends that will be huge over the holidays this season, and shop our edit of pieces to add to your closet.

When it comes to corsets, Agent Provocateur's creative director Sarah Shotton calls out corsets as the must-buy piece for the holiday season. "Brilliant for the festive season, there is nothing more glamorous than a corset, especially a '50s-spired shape," says Shotton. "Our Mercy corset is being worn at the moment by a list of celebrities; it nips in the waist, accentuates the hips, and pushes up the breasts."

"There is a huge trend at the moment for wearing your bra out with a jacket over the top," Shotton told Who What Wear. "It looks great styled with a bomber jacket, and for the more sophisticated look, women are opting for an oversize masculine blazer. If you don't feel confident about your stomach, then a cupped bodysuit looks great too!"

It turns out that more is more when it comes to lingerie this holiday season, according to Shotton "The minimalist triangle cup is on its way out," she admits, "which if you had a large breast was not easy to wear anyway, so I'm relieved!" Instead, what's coming back are more intricate pieces. "Lingerie that makes you look like you have been poured into the straps and accentuates all your curves with a bondage twist is on-trend. Elaborate lingerie that pushes you up, pulls you in, and creates the hourglass shape is a big trend, and we want that in bright colors, fancy laces, or black embellished, sexy, campy lingerie."

"This is great for parties!" Shotton says of slip dresses. "The cut slip dress with lace detailing is having a revival. Think Courtney Love circa 1995. Worn with heels, boots, or trainers. Especially for the holiday season, a gorgeous green would be perfect."

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
