PSA: Party-Season Dressing Takes Its Inspiration From Studio 54

It's easy to get sucked into a Pinterest search black hole when you're looking for vintage style inspiration. We're talking about images of the most authentic looks that capture the very essence of what an era stood for. Today we're thinking about the era of Studio 54. The glory days of New York City’s most infamous nightclub through the '70s and '80s, known for its wild nights with celebrities like Cher, Bianca Jagger and Diana Ross in attendance who pushed the boundaries of disco trends. Images from that era are giving us retro-inspired styling ideas for 2020. And as party season is rolling around fast, it's time to put last year's little black dress and heels to rest and opt for something a little more exciting. 

We chatted with the head of design at Topshop, Mo Riach, and discussed all things party-inspired from the authentic golden days of Studio 54: sequins, glitter, satin, shoulder pads, metallics, and only the most lavish head-to-toe outfits.

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout.
