If I Went Spring Shopping With Margot Robbie, I'd Suggest These 6 Basics
There’s no denying that Margot Robbie just gets it. While I’m enamored by her red carpet ensembles, it’s her street-style looks that I routinely turn to for sartorial inspiration given their effortless and fashion-forward nature. In fact, after scrolling through a range of her street style imagery, it became quickly apparent that she anchors most of her grade-A ensembles with a variety of chic basics.
Interestingly enough, many of the on-trend staple items in question also just so happen to be pieces I turn to on the regular or recommend to my friends as closet staples. And you know what? If I had the privilege of spending a shopping afternoon with her (yes, a dream), I bet she’d be interested in many of the elevated, next-level basic spring items I’m gravitating toward to this season.
To showcase further, I’m highlighting the six modern spring basics I think Robbie would love based on similar pieces she’s worn over the last few years. Keep scrolling for a bit of visual and shopping inspiration, and uncover a few new wardrobe essentials for yourself.
On Robbie: Saint Laurent shorts; Chanel belt and bag; Proenza Schouler shoes. You can’t deny the power of a standard white button-down for a classic look. This season, it’s all about the slightly offbeat and re-worked shirts to add dimension to a look—similar to the styles Robbie has worn in the past.On Robbie: Jimmy Choo pumps. Robbie complemented her elegant ensemble here with a fuzzy cardigan. As a result, there’s no doubt in my mind that she’d gravitate towards the of-the-moment cuts that are dominating the fashion-girl scene. On Robbie: Chanel knit. Sure, skinny- and straight-leg jeans could arguably be considered more of the basic and timeless cuts, but flares are rising up to be one of the key go-to denim trends of the moment. Robbie has already been spotted in the trend, so I know she wouldn’t shy away from the fresh iterations hitting shelves now.On Robbie: Attico ensemble. Robbie is all about the suiting trend. While she’s not afraid of those eye-catching tailored pieces, I think she’d also like the offering of more toned-down, slouchy blazer picks to complete her polished fits.On Robbie: R13 coat; Axel Arigato Sneakers ($230); Wardrobe.NYC Zip-Cuff Leggings ($260). A maxi coat—either a lightweight wool iteration now or a trench style when it gets warmer—brings a fashion-forward spin to any ensemble. Given Robbie’s apparent love of statement toppers, I bet she’d go for the range of similar silhouettes out there right now.On Robbie: Chanel ensemble. Robbie clearly isn’t afraid of a bold-legging look, so I bet she’d be interested in the plethora of cool coated leggings I’m loving this season.
If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
