This Trend Desperately Needed a Revamp—and 2020 Is Delivering

Fun fact: I pitched this story a couple of weeks before last night's Golden Globes, and the event's red carpet now serves as the ultimate proof that my theory was, indeed, correct. After poring over S/S 20 runway collections, I had decided that statement sleeves are back in a major way—and celebrities on the red carpet definitely agree.

Of course, this isn't the first time the trend has been in the spotlight. However, the statement sleeves of yore were more focused on subtle, cutesy details while the 2020 versions are far more inventive and risk-taking. In other words, it's time to go big or go home. One of my favorite red carpet looks in recent memory is the Miu Miu dress worn at the Golden Globes by Bel Powley, who stars alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston in The Morning Show. The ruffles, the puffs, the bow—it was all so perfect. Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout.
