I Live in L.A. and Bet These 7 Spring Trends Will Be Most Popular

As a native of Los Angeles, there are a few fashion beliefs that are basically ingrained in my DNA: Denim is essentially a second skin, sandals can be worn all year, and a leather jacket is the warmest type of jacket you'll ever need to own. I've already explained how these beliefs have affected my fashion choices for various reasons, but today, I'm here to use them as predictors of which spring 2020 trends L.A. fashion girls like myself will be into.

While there are dozens of cool spring trends to choose from this year, L.A.'s 70-degree weather and relaxed atmosphere will influence the sartorial choices of its residents. To be completely honest, we may even get to start wearing these before spring officially arrives. From the hair accessory trend that was basically made for a beach day to the top trend begging to be worn with jeans, below are the seven best spring trends I predict L.A. girls will love.

Corsets and boudoir-inspired styles were all over the runways of designers like Mugler and Helmut Lang, and I predict L.A. girls will be all over these pieces. Whether it's a nightgown-like slip dress under a blazer or corset top paired with jeans, the lingerie trend is going to take over for spring 2020.
Suiting has been trending for a few seasons now and shows no signs of slowing down for spring 2020. Since L.A. is sunny and 70-degrees more often than not, it's the skirt and short suit styles that are going to be everywhere come April.
Much like leopard or floral print, polka dots are one of those patterns that fluctuate in popularity but never truly go away. This spring, they're having a major upshift. I think polka dots are the perfect kind of non-print L.A. girls gravitate towards.
Yes, really. Tube tops are making a major comeback in 2020. They still carry an air of nostalgia for the early '00s with them, though instead of pleated skirts or low-rise jeans, L.A. fashion girls of today will be pairing them with cooler pieces like midi slip skirts and high-waisted trousers.
Seventies-style hair scarves are another old-school trend that will be seeing a revival this year, and it's the perfect accessory for L.A. girls. Paired with a simple dress or tank, this bohemian trend will be seen everywhere the first real sunny day of the spring.
While there are many exciting color trends to examine this spring, mint green is the one Los Angeles women will be endorsing. This bright hue perfectly complements every skin tone and looks gorgeous with denim.
Designers like Tom Ford and Peter Pilotto sent models down the runway in high-shine fabric last September, and I was immediately drawn to it. L.A. girls aren't afraid of a little color, and these thin, drapey fabrics are perfect for a 75-degree day in Malibu.

Next, check out the "risky" shoe trend taking the place of basic booties.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
