I'm a Shopping Specialist—These Are the 8 Cool Trends I'm Buying From Nordstrom

As market editor, shopping specialist, and Nordstrom devotee, it’s my job (and my pleasure!) to unearth some of the coolest, new sartorial gems to hit the multi-brand retailer—and share the crème de la crème of picks with you, our dear readers. This season, Nordstrom is brimming with some of spring’s biggest trends guaranteed to elevate and add a fashion-forward touch to your new-season wardrobe. There’s a little something to suit every sartorial taste (and budget), from the shoe styles everyone will be wearing next month to the jean trends destined to be all over our feeds and the refreshingly cool accessories already spotted on our favorite fashion muses. Scroll below as I share the trending Nordstrom picks you’ll be glad to get your hands on before everyone else.

From blouses to pants and dresses, leather is unquestionably one of the biggest trends of 2020. This season, we're seeing the fabric come in all hues.

Modern suiting is a huge trend for spring (and fall) this year, so it's a great time to invest in some sharp tailoring. We saw three-piece suits in particular (layered with waistcoats and overcoats) reign supreme on the runways. They're the perfect power ensemble for every occasion.

Voluminous and billowy puff sleeves are everywhere right now, and the trend shows no signs of slowing down. (They were seen in abundance on the F/W 20 runways too.) Opt for statement sleeves on a dress or blouse that will unquestionably add an of-the-moment touch to your spring ensemble.

From flares to boot-cut styles and wide-leg silhouettes, '70s-inspired jeans are trending hard for spring 2020—already spotted on celebrities and influencers around the world. Give your skinnies a break and opt for a retro silhouette this season instead.

If there's one jewelry trend to invest in this season, make it a chain-link necklace—spotted in abundance on the runways and on the street style set. Luckily, Nordstrom has a great selection for every budget.

Loafers are having quite the comeback this spring, with heeled loafers in particular reigning supreme on the runways. This season's iterations come with unique sartorial twists, such as slingback styles, buckles, and textured fabrics.

When it comes to bags this season, the bigger the better. Opt for an extra-large tote or a sling bag to take on the trend and you'll never have to leave home again without an extra pair of shoes, magazines, lipsticks, laptop, etc.

Baseball hats are the unexpected sporty trend we spotted on the runways and are currently dominating our Insta feeds. Fashion girls are wearing them with everything from suits to dresses—exuding a casual-cool touch.

Up next, I'm a loyal Nordstrom shopper—here's what I'm buying now.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
