The Micro-Trend Suddenly Dominating Our Feeds RN

We try not to miss a beat when it comes to trends here on Who What Wear—from the major trends infiltrating the market to the micro-trends creating a buzz among the fashion set. One of the latest micro-trends making some noise on the 'gram right now is anything but small. Everywhere we turn, larger-than-life oversize collars are stealing the limelight (and our hearts).

We saw plenty of large sharply pointed '70s collars on the runways over blazers, but today, we're focusing on the frilly or lace-trimmed vintage-inspired collars exuding a Victorian vibe that fashion girls can't seem to get enough of. The trend has been propelled mostly thanks to the Copenhagen brand Ganni, whose crisp, wide and frilly collared shirts have been spotted on some of the biggest fashion influencers. The brand's recent F/W 20 runway show even further solidified that the romantic detail is here to stay. The trend was also spotted in abundance at Chanel's Haute Couture S/S 20 show—making a major statement over their signature tweed jackets.

So how are we welcoming big collar energy into our wardrobes this season? Try a frilly wide-collar shirt over a crew-neck sweater, cardigan, or blazer for a fashion girl–approved look that will keep you warm through winter. Balance the statement top with a pair of simple jeans on the bottom for an of-the-moment look. Scroll below to see how fashion girls have been wearing the trend that’s suddenly dominating our feeds and shop the best on the market right now.

Ganni's latest runway show inspired us to pair a relaxed-fitting big-collar shirt over cropped cardigans and loose tailored trousers. Such a chic look.
For an office-approved look, we're all over Ganni's oversize white collar shirt over a blazer.
Take notes from the Chanel Haute Couture 2020 runway show and amp up your tweed jacket with a vintage-inspired oversize collared blouse.
Offset the prim and proper nature of the collar with a casual sweatshirt or hoodie, as seen at Celine.
Allow the wide collar to pop by contrasting a white blouse over a black sweater. Add a pop of color with your shoes for good measure.
Throughout the cooler temps, you can't go wrong with a frilly collared shirt over a pretty cardigan.
For a genius styling trick, you can buy just the collar (Sea has a great option featured in our shopping picks below) and pair over a cool-girl T-shirt, like this shoulder-padded tee from The Frankie Shop.
Raid your favorite vintage stores for wide-collar blouses in fun hues and prints. Add pearls to keep with the pretty look.
Make a statement with little effort involved by pairing a wide-collar knit sweater with your jeans.
Layer your look by adding a chic, oversize blazer over your oversize collar.
Just look to Leandra Medine for plenty of innovative ways to wear the prim trend in 2020.
Spotted on fashion girls all over our feeds.
How pretty is this floral lace embroidery, though?
For utmost versatility, opt for a lace collar that you can add to your tees, sweaters, and jackets.
Take on the trend in a pop of pink.
Wear under a black crew-neck sweater to make the collar stand out.
A blouse that will take you from day-to-night with ease.
You can't go wrong with the price.
A classic stripe button-down gets a trend-forward makeover.
Try a dress over jeans for a very spring 2020 look.
A silky fabric adds a luxurious touch.
This may not feature lace or frills but it certainly makes a statement.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
