From the very beginning, Everlane has been one of those rare brands in which every new item that drops is met with high anticipation. Compared to other brands, it doesn't really have a ton of products at any given time, so you know that the utmost thought and testing are going into each and every piece they put their name on. Which brings us to today's major launch: the $58 Perform Leggings.
As you know, the leggings market is very saturated, but certain styles consistently stand out from the pack, and I think Everlane's first-ever performance leggings are going to do just that. How do I know? I was one of the first people to get to try the chic, sustainable, chemical-free and affordable leggings.
While I'm not someone who wears leggings very often for lounging, I do wear them a good four times a week for working out, and my standards are high. I prefer leggings that are comfortable and slimming (so they need compression but not too much), a high waistband that doesn't creep down, a less than $100 price tag, and a fabric that's thick enough to be smoothing but not so thick that it's not breathable. I'm pleased to say that Everlane's leggings checked all of these boxes for me (fittingly, Everlane describes the Perform Leggings as "a legging that does it all"). My first impression when I unboxed the leggings? They seemed quite thin and almost silky. While I don't know if I'd wear them for an outdoor workout in the winter, they'd be perfect for an indoor or warm-weather workout. The fabric felt like butter to the touch and you can feel the sweat-wicking powers of the fabric before even sweating in it. The leggings come in both ankle and regular lengths (mine are regular, and for reference, I'm 5'4") and four colors (I opted for Ink Grey, but they're all equally wearable).
As far as sizing goes, I wouldn't recommend sizing down in these if you're between sizes. I'm typically a true size small and that size fits me to a T in the leggings. While there was a bit of compression (which I like in workout leggings), they were very comfortable and flexible. And while you could certainly wear them for lounging, travel, instead of pants, etc. (given how sleek, simple, and seam-free they are). I think my preference will be to save them for workouts. I have a feeling I might need them in every color. Keep scrolling to shop every iteration along with me.
