Boots may not be the first thing you think of when imagining summer footwear. Airy sandals are a much likelier warm-weather shoe choice, especially if you can get them on sale. But that’s not stopping the fashion set from trying out one of the biggest footwear trends seen on the F/W 20 runways a bit early. Tall (but not so tall they’re over the knee), flat-soled boots were without a doubt one of the key silhouettes to come out of February fashion weeks. While you can go with a riding-boot style, many a stylish lady have been taking it a step further with chunkier soles or square toes that add a bit of a modern edge. As for how to style them, fashion girls have figured out that these tough, practical boots pair especially well with a sweet summer dress. A study in contrasts, if you will. The whole look conjures up visions of frolicking through the British countryside with your romantic dress and flat stompers. Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week.
