I Hate Spending a Lot on Swimsuits—These Are the 9 Brands I Shop

As someone who doesn't spend that much time in swimsuits, I prefer to spend more on fashion items I'm going to get a lot of use out of and less on swimsuits. But that doesn't mean I don't want a few new ones each summer. For this reason, I've become an expert at finding chic affordable swimsuits, and I know that I'll always find them at the nine brands below.

In case you're wondering, I have a few criteria for what makes a good swimsuit brand. I really like it when a brand has a wide variety of styles. I prefer swimwear with a little more coverage, but I know that's not the case for everyone, so plenty of options are key. I also love swimsuits that have special details that make them look ultra-expensive—like a belt or ruching—and perhaps most importantly, an under-$200 price point is key.

Ready to shop my favorite swimsuits from my nine favorite affordable swimwear brands? You know what to do.

In keeping with everything else it designs, Madewell's swimwear is trendy (without being over-the-top), comfortable, and flattering. Bonus: It's swimwear comes in a wide variety of sizes.

Shop the matching Uma Stripe Scrunch Bikini Bottoms ($32).

Hunza G's ruched-fabric swimsuits are so stretchy that they only come in one size. I love how simple yet trendy the suits are (some options have high-cut legs and metallics).

When there's a swimwear trend I want to try but really don't want to spend on it, H&M never lets me down. For how low the prices are, the quality really isn't that bad.

Shop the matching Bikini Bottoms ($6).
Shop the matching Bikini Bottoms ($13).

Given how pretty Faithfull the Brand's dresses are, it's not surprising that its swimwear is just as good. I can't stop thinking about this pink-and-white tie-dye bikini.

Shop the matching Brie Bikini Briefs ($90).

Reformation has always excelled at staying on top of trends, and that goes for swimwear too. Expect the same pretty prints that it uses for the rest of its pieces.

Shop the matching Mandalay Bikini Bottoms ($68).
Shop the matching Shore Bikini Bottoms ($68).

I've loved Solid & Striped from the very beginning. The brand continues to set trends and come up with designs that are more and more special. Plus, the fit is very good.

Shop the matching Daphne Bikini Bottoms ($84)

Like H&M, Aerie has long been a reliable source for extremely affordable swimsuits that are on-trend and come in a variety of inclusive sizes.

Shop the matching Space Dye High Cut Cheeky Bikini Bottoms ($30).

Every one of Australian brand Peony Swim's one-pieces and bikinis is playful and fun just like swimwear should be. If you love having the latest swim trends each summer, look no further.

Shop the matching Short Bikini Bottom ($90).
Shop the matching Metallic Jacquard Bikini Briefs ($100).

Malibu-based Frankies Bikinis is a dream come true if you love to mix and match your swimwear. And in case bikinis aren't your thing, don't let the name fool you, because the brand also makes chic one-pieces.

Shop the matching Austin Bikini Bottoms ($85).
Shop the matching Jenna Bottom ($85).

Next up, the most important bikini trends, according to celebs.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
