These 25 Items Make Up My Summer Capsule Wardrobe

Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one Who What Wear team member or friend of the brand will share the top 25 finds on their current wish list.

It's fair to say that my love for Free People runs deep. I've been shopping the brand for over a decade and even worked at one of their boutiques in college. (Yes, I spent every paycheck at the store and so would you.) Let me tell you, they have a fantastic selection right now—so much so that I spent hours (and I do mean hours) searching the site for the very best of the best. A tough task, but someone's got to do it.

I'm especially excited to shop these pieces ahead of The Retreat, a virtual event Who What Wear is co-hosting with Free People this Saturday, May 23 to raise funds for World Central Kitchen. We have a full day's lineup of activities with some very special guests, including a styling session with Shiona Turini, workout classes with Julianne Hough and Ryan Heffington, and a self-care morning routine with THE/THIRTY's managing editor, Sarah Yang. The full schedule and tickets can be found here. It's going to be a great event for a great cause, but until then, take a look at my 25 top picks for a dreamy summer wardrobe. You know you want to.

I love the smocking details and the muted print on this dress. It's also quite comfortable if I do say so myself.
I always find great shoes at Free People, like these little knotted block-heel sandals. These will look perfect with my entire summer wardrobe.
The best $20 you'll spend for a while. Trust me.
This breezy top is great for Zoom meetings or at-home date nights for the time being.
Retro denim for under $100? Yes, please.
Great for breezy summer nights. By the way, how gorgeous is this sage color?
Just the right heel height to wear with jeans, dresses, and slip skirts this summer.
This minidress comes in not one but eight different colors. I like this LBD, but it's a tough choice. Speaking of tough choices, Free People has so many great dresses on their site right now.
Show off all your favorite necklaces with this deep-V dress.
Ribbed tank tops are the easiest trend to buy into this season… and the comfiest.
I have this seamless sports bra in black and can't say enough good things about it. I'm honestly shocked I've waited until now to purchase the piece in more colorways.
Yes, there are matching leggings. Thanks for asking.
I always look for one-piece swimsuits that can also be worn as bodysuits, just like this leopard one.
A bikini top with just the right amount of shimmer.
And how amazing is the waistline on the matching bottoms? For those who have just now become aware of the cute swimwear Free People sells, shop the entire collection here.
These will be my everyday sandals this summer.
Every summer wardrobe requires the perfect white tee, and this is definitely it.
I'd wear this over a bikini or denim shorts as seen here.
For when it's too hot to wear your favorite cardigan.
I swear this skirt is the next best thing to cozy sweatpants.
Another great sports bra in another fun summer shade.
Of course, that bra has a pair of matching leggings, too. I'll be wearing this set for every IGTV workout until further notice and shopping even more great activewear from FP Movement.
You may already know about Free People's amazing beauty selection, in which case you won't be surprised about this $20 multipurpose product I discovered. I keep my makeup pretty minimal during warmer months, but sometimes a girl just needs a little shimmer on her lids and cheekbones.
I'll just be over here dreaming about wearing this crochet top on some tropical beach.
This roomy tote fits all of my summer essentials: a good novel, sunglasses, lip gloss, and sunscreen.

Join us and Free People for The Retreat by purchasing tickets here.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
