We're Crushing Hard on Summer's 10 Biggest Bag Trends

Summer is just around the corner, and there's no easier way to amp up your new-season look than with a chic, new handbag. Whether you're wearing basic sweat shorts and a tank top or a pretty floral maxi dress, a bag is an effortless way to add interest to all your summer ensembles.

So what are the biggest bag trends that we can expect all the fashion girls slinging around their arms this summer? Luckily, there is a little something to suit every sartorial taste—from raffia bags in polished silhouettes and teeny tiny coin purses to XL shopping totes and bucket bags—we're crushing hard on these 10 styles below that are winning our hearts. Read on as we share the summer bags set to dominate this warm-weather season.

There's no surprise that bohemian and natural textures such as raffia, straw, and wicker bags are going to be a huge hit this summer, but this season, the beach-ready fabrics feel more sophisticated in sleek and structured silhouettes or trimmed with luxe leather.

Good news for us ladies who can't leave home without an extra pair of shoes, a makeup bag, snacks, etc! Summer's hottest bags come in the form of extra-large shoppers and slings in a myriad of fabrics such as buttery soft leather, canvas, suede, and mock croc.

In contrast to large purses, teeny-tiny micro bags are having a moment. Think hand-held coin purses, micro necklace bags, and crossbody purses that will just about fit your AirPods.

While we saw our fair share of woven straw bags on the runway, it was the sophisticated woven leather bags that really caught our eye. From Fendi to Bottega Veneta to Loewe, they come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.

We saw a plethora of bright and bold colored bags on the runway, but it was the saturated orange hues that we saw reining supreme. The color will add a lively touch to every summer outfit.

Crochet is a huge trend this summer (on everything from dresses to tops), and we're seeing the bohemian design translate to bags too. Opt for a slouchy tote you can take to the beach or brunch alike.

From subtle vintage-inspired details to statement buckles—gilded-clasp bags are a huge trend this summer—playing into the bourgeois trend that's been going strong for the past few seasons. Moreover, the trend will take you from summer to fall in style.

Continuing with the trend of natural materials this summer, we saw bamboo handles make a welcome appearance on the runways. From Prada to Miu Miu to Gucci, bamboo adorned everything from bucket bags to mock-croc boxy bags.

While bucket bags are a timeless staple year-round, it's seeing a resurgence of popularity this summer with modern details and luxe fabrics. Opt for neutral hues that go with everything in your summer closet.

The summer 2020 update of the handsfree clutch comes in a mixed bag of styles, from roomy and sleek clutches in a myriad of colors and textures to puffy options and handles.

Up next, nine new designer handbags we're championing this year.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
