Yep, These Are the Most Comfortable Summer Trends of 2020

Right now, I’m ready to add some new pieces to my closet for summer, and some cool trends recently caught my eye. What I love most about them is that they’re actually centered on basic closet staples but with interesting details that make them feel modern. They're the perfect blend of comfortable and cool. I’m seeing basics like tank tops finished with ribbing and collared button-downs finished in breathable linen. Perhaps one of my favorites? T-shirts that have been updated with muscle-tee silhouettes and padded shoulders that transform the essential piece into something special.

Ahead, I’m highlighting seven of the most comfortable summer trends sitting in my shopping cart now that also happen to be super chic. While these are already starting to bubble up now, they will continue to be popular in the coming months. Go on to see how fashion girls are already wearing them now, and then shop my edit.

Swimsuits as tops? I'm very on board and honestly can't wait to try this out for myself. I love the idea of pairing one with a suit like in the photo here, but I would also wear one with a linen skirt or pants like the Matteau wrap top is styled below.
This color is perfection.
Who even needs swimsuit bottoms when you can wear the top with a skirt like this?
This ruffled zebra top is so stunning (and affordable).
I've already adopted the padded muscle tee into my wardrobe and think it's such a great update on a classic T-shirt. Paired with shorts or jeans, it adds an element of cool to a simple outfit.
This Franke Shop top is a favorite among the fashion set.
Mango keeps selling out of this one.
There are only a few sizes left.
Yep, "ugly" shoes are back—this time returning as chunky slides with thick soles and buckled straps. I'll admit that I haven't been a huge fan in the past but have a pair sitting in my cart right now. I promise these comfortable sandals will be everywhere.
These also come in white and black.
You can't go wrong with Birkenstock's classic Arizona sandals.
I love the solid-black finish.
Tube tops are the ultimate throwback piece that is officially here to stay. I think they're the perfect foundational layering piece to wear underneath a linen blazer or simply pair with jeans and mules.
For anyone looking for a cropped length.
Or a bodysuit version.
Finished with cool ruching.
Sure, tank tops are a staple you probably own already, but right now, we're seeing them finished with ribbing, which adds some texture and dimension. Go for a fun color or classic white.
These cool colors are selling out fast.
Re/Done always masters the perfect fit.
I love the high halterneck silhouette here.
Linen is the breathable fabric that is practically made for summer. Right now, I'm seeing it everywhere but especially in collared button-down tops. Style yours with just a few buttons secured at the waist.
Here's the exact shirt pictured above.
I would buy this a size up for a loose fit.
This comes in two other colors.
Bra tops have already popped as a huge trend in the last year but are holding strong for summer. Layer one with a slip skirt and cropped cardigan like the outfit here.
To pull off the outfit above.
I'd wear this with jean shorts and an undone button-down.
Yep, logo underwear is everywhere right now.

Next, discover the holy-grail basics I wear on repeat.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
