5 Legging Experts Predict the Colors That Will Be Huge This Fall

If you didn't already live in leggings before this pandemic, you certainly live in them now. This comfortable and versatile athleisure staple is known for taking you to the gym to get a coffee and back again. Now that softer items like sweatpants and bike shorts are taking center stage in our wardrobes, we can only expect the popularity of leggings to increase tenfold. But back to my original point about pretty much wearing your leggings to death, it's probably time to give your current collection a fresh update. Here to tell you exactly how to do that is a small sampling of what I'm calling "legging experts."

I tapped the designers, co-founders, and creative directors of some of the buzziest athleisure brands in the industry for the inside scoop on the legging colors that are predicted to be huge this fall. Since it's safe to assume that black leggings are your current go-tos, there's no time like the present to step a little out of your comfort zone and into one of the cool new fall legging colors below. From earthy hues to bright magentas, the experts are here to fill you in on every major new colorway you should be adding to your legging collection this season.

"For fall 2020 more natural, earthier shades prevail.  Colors that have a more authentic, unrefined sense about them, true autumnal shades, are particularly important. In the JoyLab palette, Cypress (Olive), Glazed Ginger, Tawny Port, and our soft Bordeaux shades are particular standouts either on their own or paired with printed bras. We are especially excited about the rib program as it has flattering cut lines and a contouring bra that matches up. As we transition deeper into the fall months browns will become more important." — Christina DiBernardo, VP of Design for JoyLab

"We have magenta and orchid in our fall collection. We are obsessed as these are really good colors to transition into your darker fall wardrobe. It’s still warm in most of the country these next months so color is still fun." — Alejandra Hernandez, Designer of Year of Ours

“This fall you’ll see new takes on timeless gem tones like rubies. At Alo, we’ve re-imagined that shade into something fresh that’s deeper with an elevated edge. Our Oxblood is the perfect fall color for sophisticated studio-to-street appeal.” — Danny Harris, Alo Co-Founder

“Our P.E Blush Pink remains a hero of the season. A top seller has been our “Block Pass Legging." The P.E customer loves the femme color palette with a subtle P.E signature stamp of fluro detailing, peppered through in a tomboy way.” — Pip Edwards, Co-Founder/Creative Director of P.E Nation

“This season, we looked at color-blocking inspired by racing stripes and vintage Olympic uniforms. White side stripes create an elongating silhouette and diagonal striping adds a flash of bright blue for contrast. We were thinking about the elegance of athleticism, and as always, flattering lines that enhance any woman’s shape.” — Tory Burch, Designer and Chief Creative Officer, Tory Sport

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
