Kerry Washington Served Badass Olivia Pope Vibes at the Democratic National Convention

Kerry Washington opened night three of the 2020 Democratic National Convention with a clear message: we must "fight for a more perfect union because we are fighting for the soul of this country and for the fight of our lives." The actress exuded major Olivia Pope energy in her opening speech as well as the rest of her hosting duties, in both her powerful words and sophisticated outfit. Kerry wore a sleek pinstripe pantsuit with expert tailoring while introducing the DNC Wednesday night.

In fact, Kerry's outfit so closely resembled that of her Scandal character's wardrobe that Olivia Pope started trending on Twitter during her opening speech. Many Scandal fans were reminded of Olivia's tailored, classic style as a crisis manager and high-powered lawyer. The actress, who was styled by Law Roach, paired her navy Alexandre Vauthier suit with chic geometric earrings and minimal makeup.
