8 Stunning New Bag Brands That Have Our Whole Team Buzzing

Nothing gets me giddier than discovering a brand-new designer with a hell of a potential to blow up. It's the reason I often find myself in a 2 a.m. Instagram hole, eight pages deep, my Saved folder overflowing with new discoveries. It's why I'm likely to stop strangers in the street and inquire about the origins of their outfit or throw an out-of-the-blue DM someone's way—see something, say something, right? For someone who scouts the internet every day for the best shopping, uncovering a new-to-me brand I'm infatuated with is a serious thrill.

Lately, my Saved folder has been racking up a lot of new handbag designers that just get it. Each of their designs feels undoubtedly fresh, a tough feat in the current age of designer It bags and logo mania. From the perfect, polished top-handle bags to the quirky novel bags you didn't know you needed, I'm sharing eight new brands you might not have heard of yet but definitely will soon. Go ahead and stalk the following designers at your leisure, and shop the handbags I personally recommend investing in. With love, from my Saved folder to yours.

Think of that polished top-handle bag your grandma always used to carry, and then add an element of playful surprise and you have Ratio et Motus. The brand's Twin Frame Bag is at once novel and practical, featuring a second mini bag that gives you the option of detaching and wearing each one separately or together.

When a powerhouse like Net-a-Porter gets behind an up-and-coming brand in a major way, we're all ears. Gu_de's signature glossy croc-effect bags are part of the retailer's New Vanguard program, and our editor in chief, Kat Collings, gave her stamp of approval by wearing one of the brand's bags this fashion week.

Surprise—more croc effect. This time it's in the form of a petite '50s-style bag that reminds me of a rare vintage treasure I once stumbled upon but (regretfully) didn't take home. Vintage-inspired but with a cool modern twist, Little Liffner is certainly one to watch.

Last time I was in NYC, I walked into Opening Ceremony and was immediately drawn to an array of boxy leather totes in dreamy candy colors belonging to the Medea label. How the team was able to take a simplistic concept and make it extremely cool and cult-worthy is beyond me. I'm hooked.

Wandler's got the makings of true It-bag potential. Its bags are polished and elevated with distinctive, recognizable shapes and come in so many fun color options. If you're looking for a new investment bag that's both sleek and stylish, Wandler is very good bet.

The market for woven bags is pretty saturated, to say the least, but Cesta is doing things differently. Each bag is woven by artisanal cooperatives in Rwanda using only locally sourced, renewable materials and hand finishes in NYC. It's truly a brand that empowers the women it works with, and its pretty designs are a direct reflection of that.

Want to know the bag that cool girls all over NYC are wearing right now? Meet Janis Studios. The brand launched last year with its signature Darka Bag, a simple yet brilliant concept with just two sizes and a handful of colors. The idea is that you can swap out the handles depending on mood, occasion, or season.

Each of Atelier Mimii's unique quilted totes is an explosion of color, texture, and pure novelty. From lime green satin to pearl-embellished tweed, these bags are 100% fun.

Speaking of It items, this fall piece has officially gone viral.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
