But this season, there's a new shape taking over the pant drawers of fashion girls, celebrities, and now royals, too. Looser, wide-leg pants are quickly gaining ground, and they're a trend we predicted will breakthrough—and it did.

On a royal tour to Cyprus last year, Middleton opted for a black pair of loose-leg trousers to give her stamp of approval to the trend. The pant style may be getting all the buzz among the trendy set, but the duchess styled it in the most royal way: with a tailored blazer, neutral pumps, and cinched with a leather belt to give the look some of Middleton's signature polish.
