7 Danish Brands Every Fashion Editor I Know Wears

I guarantee that if you asked to look in any fashion editor's wardrobe right now (over Zoom, of course), you'd spot at least one Danish brand. Over the past few years, the country's influence over how we get dressed cannot be understated. From older brands that have been given a makeover to newer designers that have become Instagram favorites, it's hard to ignore the impact this part of Scandinavia has had on the fashion industry. With Copenhagen Fashion Week once again on the horizon (in a digital-only format), we've looked at all the brands that we honestly can't get enough of.

We often think of Scandinavian style as being a homogenous minimalist style but that's actually not true. While Swedish people might opt for a more minimalist, pared-back look, over in Denmark, and Copenhagen in particular, there’s a shift towards prints and colors. There are plenty of influencers who prove this too. From print queen Nnenna Echem to Emili Sindlev who loves to clash colors with sparkles, there's no shortage of Danes who love to opt for the more 'out-there' looks. It's this eclecticism that has absolutely shone through the most recent trending fashion labels coming out of the country. Keep scrolling for a look at the brands we love and what we want to shop.

Where would we be without Ganni? Honestly, it's almost hard to imagine what the fashion landscape looked like before it became so ubiquitous. But the fact that it's so popular hasn't deterred anyone from shopping the brand.

Key Piece: There are so many to choose from. For a while it was the T-shirts, then the balloon-sleeve jumpers, then the oversized collar shirts. But perhaps, for me, it has to be something leopard print.

Dresses don't get much dreamier than from the likes of Cecilie Bahnsen. The brand has only been going since 2015 but it has found a loyal following for its signature oversized stylings.

Key Piece: It has to be one of the gorgeous dresses. You'll feel like a modern-day Cinderella.

Baum Und Pferdgarten is definitely one of those brands that appeals to a quirkier sense of style. From oversized checks to puff-sleeved dresses, you'll find something that's right for you.

Key Piece: If we had to pick, it would have to be something checked.

Saks Potts coats are some of the funnest and most cool we've seen for a while. While the printed logo puffers are great, it's the shearling lined belted coats we're keen on.

Key Piece: The faux-fur trimmed coat, of course.

If you love bold colours and shiny fabrics, then Stine Goya is for you. Ideal for injecting a bold touch into your wardrobe, here's where you can get a taste for maximalism without trying too hard.

Key Piece: One of the fun jewel-coloured dresses or the latest knits, which have become an Instagram favourite.

When we're back to going to parties, make sure you check out Rotate for your next dress. From cool minis to sleek midis, there's something here for every dress lover.

Key Piece: A bold pink mini dress is what we'd go for right now, especially as it's one of spring/summer 2021's hottest colours.

Not everything has to be about bold colours, prints or silhouettes. Sometimes you need the basics too. And that's exactly what Samsøe & Samsøe offers.

Key Piece: There are plenty of options here but the belted leather jacket is so chic.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
