What Our Editors Have in Their Shopping Carts for Their Reemergence Looks

As our lives have all changed over the last year, our wardrobes have as well. For many of us—including this editor—sweatpants and loungewear have been on heavy rotation, replacing many of the pieces hanging in our closets. As the world begins to reopen, though, I've been starting to think about post-pandemic shopping and some of the pieces I'll be wearing when things begin to return to normal.

While I'm not completely ready to give up comfortable fashion, I am excited to add some dressier pieces that I haven't had a place to wear. An open-back Jacquemus dress and a show-stopping crystal-embellished Nué jacket are just a few that are topping my list.

Curious to hear which items our editors are eyeing for their personal "reemergence looks," I asked them to share the pieces sitting in their shopping carts. From swimsuits in retro floral prints to cutout dresses to the heels they're swapping in for flats, these are the 21 pieces we're buying first.

With an open back, micro hemline, and high slit, this dress is everything I've been craving in my wardrobe recently.
The perfect top for a future date night.
This crystal-embellished jacket from Nué is such a special piece, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.
"I purchased very few shoes last year. I'm looking forward to changing that this year."
"More time spent out of the house means more opportunities to wear these sunglasses. These share a name with me, so I think it's a sign."
"I'm about to contribute to this adorable sweater tank selling out."
“I'm not a huge heel person, but I'm ready to purchase a pair for the summer ahead. A little extra something is just needed. Instead of a stiletto or kitten, a platform is more up my alley.”
Give me all the fun prints, please!
"My dress game has not been high the past year—I'm just not someone who likes to lounge around in dresses! But as outdoor events start to become a thing again, I'm ready to bring out all the stops. This Ganni dress has been on my mind since it was released."
"I'm obsessed with everything in this fun color, and I can't wait to style this dress with some cushy flip-flops for a bit of a Y2K vibe."
"I always reach for a breezy white top in the summer months, and this one feels special—like it could pass as a vintage find."
"This bikini is checking all the boxes for the swimwear trends I'm trying to be seen in this summer: an underwire top, retro florals, and a bright splash of color. Oh, and the fit is impeccable."
"As we begin to go outside again, we'll be reminded of that thing in the sky (you know, the sun), hence why I'm eyeing these bold Cult Gaia sunglasses. They're the pop of color and UV protection I need to be out in these streets again."
"The moment I stumbled upon the rising brand Farai London on Twitter, I knew I had to get my hands on its risqué, art-like pieces. Can you imagine wearing this out for a socially distanced date night?"
"A colorful, strappy sandal is a must for emerging into the world—these Charles & Keith sandals fit the bill."
"It's been a really long time since I've been on vacation—this beautiful print swimsuit is perfect for an upcoming getaway to Palm Springs next month."
"I can't wait to step out in a bold pop of color this summer. I'm loving this vibrant pink hue and cute silhouette."
"I'm obsessed with this vintage-inspired floral shorts set. I can't wait to wear it to upcoming summer BBQs, brunches, and beach getaways."
"This Jacquemus silhouette feels quite fresh, and the print just screams vacation. I'm picturing it with cute shorts on an island someday (hopefully) soon."
"I'm all about these Birkenstock sandals. I have them in black but love the white also. They're great for the pool or just for day-to-day life."
"I love a good bag. If I am going to invest in an item, there's a strong chance it will be a gorgeous handbag. This new Curve Bag from Alexander McQueen is absolutely stunning and can basically go with any outfit. I'm picturing it with a slouchy blazer and distressed jeans for a night out."

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
