We Work Out 5 Days a Week—These Are the Only Workout Trends We Care About

While I've always prided myself on having a few cute workout sets on hand, it wasn't until recently that I realized just how badly this area of my closet needed an update. Transitioning from at-home workouts to my favorite IRL classes has made me realize that my plain black leggings won't cut it anymore. In other words, my need for more exciting workout gear has exploded.

To refresh this area of my closet, I turned to two women who are basically experts when it comes to cute activewear, Elizabeth Endres and Dale Borchiver. As co-founders of their fitness platform Sweats + the City, Endres and Borchiver know a thing or two about what to wear to work out and how to look chic doing it. "We work out on average about five days a week," they shared. "Anywhere between 20 and 60 minutes a day, plus a ton of walking." In addition to reviewing popular fitness studios, they recently launched Sweat With Sweats, which is a live and on-demand platform featuring a highly curated list of instructors that the two have personally vetted. One glance at the duo's Instagram feed confirms that they've mastered the art of the cute activewear outfit, so I knew I had to tap them for their insight on the trends to know in this space. Spoiler: Their answers are good.

Endres and Borchiver explained that they're leaning into the following six activewear trends right now, which tells me that they're the most important styles to know. From lingerie-inspired pieces to trend-forward cutouts, discover how the girls wear each trend up ahead and peruse some shopping options, too.

"With summer right around the corner, there's no better time to invest in a great pair of biker shorts. Ease into this trend with a bold, solid color (we also love a staple black piece) or spice it up with a funky pattern—you'll thank us later!"

"We are really into the varsity-inspired look these days. This includes sweatshorts, high socks, chunky sneakers, and crew-necks. We love combining different colors and textures in order to make this look really pop."

"We've also been really loving lingerie-inspired sports bras. Workout bras have definitely leveled up from the simple sports-bra look. Think prominent and contrast stitching and fashionable silhouettes, with a little lace sprinkled in. Stylish and delicate but still functional—a look that can take you from the gym to a night out in no time."

"An option that's surprisingly comfortable and chic is the onesie! We know these can be intimidating to try, but we've honestly found them to be so flattering on all body types. Toss on your favorite crew-neck top or zip-up with a high sock to complete this fun look."

"Over the past year or so, flare pants have been popping up everywhere, and we're not not down. Beyond Yoga, Splits59, and Alo are showing them this season, and we're absolutely loving this look. An easy way to elevate any traditional workout or yoga pants."

"Whether it's a one-shoulder or oblique cutout, we're so into this spin on basic activewear to give your look a little edge this summer! Pair bright colors with some classic staples to refresh your look without breaking the bank. Another staple to add to your closet that can also take your look easily from day to night."

Next up, these are all the best bikinis on Amazon right now, all in one place.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
