5 Minimalist Influencers Just Told Me What They Want to Wear This Summer

Recently, there's been a lot of talk about dressing joyfully, and I've been very much on board with this sentiment. After over a year of pretty much being on lockdown and wearing joggers, it's only natural that we're gravitating towards bright pops of colors and fun patterns to remerge as social butterflies for dinners, brunches and the bar. But we shouldn't overlook those basics that continue to make up the staple of our wardrobes—joy can be found under many guises. We know from our own intel at Who What Wear that the pieces that tend to sell the best are basics such as white tees, black dresses and vest tops, arguably the bread and butter of our summer wardrobes. 

I turned to five of my favorite people to follow on IG who are well known for their more pared-back wardrobes. Each one has their own distinct style, but the key is that they all have an eye for what makes a really great basic. Here, everyone has told me what they've got on their wish list for the coming season. Whether it's a great shorts suit or just a cut-off T-shirt, all the following pieces can be described with one word: chic. So if minimalism is your thing or you just want some inspiration on how to update your basics, keep scrolling. 

This former PR girl is one of our go-tos for getting minimalist inspiration. Jess Skye often spots high-street pieces that look way more expensive than their price tags (a real sweet spot if you ask us) and mixes it up with some luxury labels, too.

Easily one of the coolest people on Instagram, Abi Omole has an eye that's unmatched. Whether it's the interiors picks she finds for her studio or just her knack of pairing cool basics together, we will always return to her feed for inspiration. 
Lawyer by day Lorna is a purveyor of great basics. Recently, she's proved just how cool a pair of Prada loafers looks with myriad trousers, from white jeans to stirrup leggings. We always go to her page for corporate-but-stylish inspiration. 
Blogger Yatri has the ideal classic wardrobe. But don't get us wrong. While she relies on white shirts, jeans and black shoes, her style is anything but boring. Thanks to her clever way of layering her pieces, you'll find there's new life to breathe into your own staples, too.

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout.
