10 Outfits I'm Lifting From The Coolest Women in Texas

We report on personal style rather extensively here at Who What Wear headquarters. New designers we're spotting, fresh layering combinations we've never seen before, and the like. However, we'll be the first ones to lament that the geographical locations that garner more widespread recognition tend to be large metropolitan cities like New York City and Paris. However, anyone with an interest in fashion knows that strong style is not reserved for these cosmopolitan hubs alone. In fact, some of the more interesting takes on style come from unexpected spots. Take Georgia, for example, the home of designer Demna Gvasalia.

Circling back west, though, we decided to investigate (aka Instagram-stalk) what women in Texas are wearing right now, and what we found was thoroughly inspiring. Sure, there were some Western-inspired boots and hats, but we also found ensembles that felt like a fresh detour from the cliche of southern style. To see what we mean, scroll down for 10 spot-on looks from the women of the Lone Star State and shop our picks at the end to steal their style.

WHO: Nikki. WHERE: Houston, TX. WHAT: This celery green hue takes a simple warm-weather outfit to the next level. Re-create Nikki's easy-chic vibe with neutral sandals and a woven bucket hat.
WHO: Ali. WHERE: Austin, TX. WHAT: Call me biased, but is there anything more stunning than Ali in our two-tone Lauren dress? I love the way she styled the flowy frock with a string of pearls and a pair of strappy sandals and now I'm inspired to do the same.
WHO: Brandy. WHERE: Houston, TX. WHAT: I love how Brandy let her retro accessories like rectangle sunglasses and platforms really shine against a simple linen dress.
WHO: Bushra. WHERE: Austin, TX. WHAT: Let's be real, when am I not looking jean styling inspiration? Bushra's formula of high-waisted jeans and a boxy tee is a good reminder that sometimes great basics make for a simple but chic outfit.
WHO: Lola. WHERE: Dallas, TX. WHAT: Clearly, bra tops are a trend that's sweeped the nation this year. I'm taking styling tips from Lola's minimalist ensemble here and layering a ribbed cardigan over mine.
WHO: Karina. WHAT: Personally speaking, a relaxed suit is a timeless look that will never feel dated. But Karina styled hers with platform flip-flops to bring it into 2021.
WHO: Meghan. WHERE: Houston, TX. WHAT: Texan women have mastered the art of looking polished even when it's sweltering outside and Meghan's belted blazer dress is all the proof you need.
WHO: Allison. WHERE: McAllen, TX. WHAT: Surprise, surprise, the Y2K wave has officially infiltrated the Southern state. Allison's printed pants and pink jelly shoes are nostalgic in the best way.
WHO: Shay. WHERE: Houston, TX. WHAT: Nope, you don't need to wear any color to make a statement. Shay's two-toned Nanushka jeans—which she styled effortlessly with a bodysuit and sandals—speak for themselves.
WHO: Katey. WHERE: Fort Worth, TX. WHAT: The power that a really great blazer holds can't be understated. Here, Katey took a classic warm-weather outfit and zhooshed it up with her beige topper.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
