I'm a Lingerie Model and These Are the 5 Prettiest Trends I Own

Almost all of the world spent the last year tucked away inside our homes and while some of us might have spent a little too much time embracing the bra-free lifestyle (guilty as charged), others reached for comfy alternatives as a next-best-thing. While there are certainly moments when skipping a bra makes sense, I know I'm personally ready to dive fully back into my top drawer. Seeing as we've been dusting off our dressy wardrobes, there's no reason why fancy lingerie shouldn't also be making a comeback in 2021.

Whether you were staunchly team no-bra or you kept reaching for one without thinking twice, a lingerie refresh might be just what the doctor ordered. At least, it has been for me. Lingerie doesn't have to be so serious if you ask me and as someone who owns a lot of it, I think it can be a fun way to get in on what's trending in general. So take a look at some of my favorite pretty lingerie trends below that I have been reaching for on the regular, see how I'm wearing them, and shop my favorite picks for each.

Embroidery isn’t always like your grandmother’s doily, in fact, it's moved into the modern era with grace. Lingerie looks somehow even more alluring and fun with a bit of embroidery, and it’s sure to please the apple of your eye.

Mmmm, cherries du jour anyone?
I love how this could also double as a going-out top underneath a blazer.
You can also opt for a sheer one-piece instead of a set.
Lingerie meets a 2021 halter trend? Count me in.
Even a bit of embroidery goes a long way.

Ruffles aren’t just for Jacobean Ruffs (that's a 16th Century-era collar, ICYWW). When mixed with a silky, slinky texture, they are also the perfect addition to your lingerie set.

This deliciously brown, silky set in my photo was incredibly comfortable. When falling asleep in silky underwear, one cannot help but feel Queenly.  Shop the matching Brown Frilled Thong ($125)
If you like your lingerie equal parts comfortable and cute, go for a ruffled one-piece instead.
White, silk and ruffles go together like three peas in a pod.
These are so pretty and come in seven fun colors.
Why not pair the embroidery trend with the ruffle trend with this Fleur Du Mal number?

The best lingerie knows when to mix skin with just the right amount of mystery. That’s why I love a bit of sheer paneling on my lingerie. It’s the perfect amount of risqué.

This lingerie piece is one of my favorites. It holds you in while giving away just enough (or maybe too much).
The standard bra fit is taken from day to night with a sheer paneling accent.
Sometimes we all just need the power of being held in, and Spanx always delivers that. This piece gives an added spice.
Make everyday mesh a thing.
Mind-blowingly stunning.

The power of the push-up bra is well known. Yet integrating back into the mix after a year of staying far away from underwire (let alone extra padding) is definitely a stretch. Trust me on this one—the push-up bra can reinvigorate your love of lingerie, and I am speaking from experience.

The VS push-up bra is a staple of most women’s closets and for good reason. The heights one can reach are unprecedented!
A well-fitting push-up bra is hard to come by, but luckily these Intimissimi ones are comfortable and sassy.
This gives me old Hollywood glamour.
Va-va-voom isn't only the sound that cars make.
We love a scallop detail, and this one just enhances the goods.

Last but not least, one can always go above and beyond for their partner with the full lingerie accouterment. Garters are an annoyingly difficult part of the decked-out lingerie look, but unfortunately cannot be topped aesthetically.

For Love & Lemons lingerie is adorable and I have loved wearing their pieces complete with garter.
Black and svelte is always an option.
This soft and white set has an almost summery feel to it.
I absolutely love the stretchiness of this Fleur Du Mal set for bigger thighs like myself.
Why not make it a complete set?

Up next, these are the best lingerie brands, period.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
