To date, I have 42 handbags in my collection. Zero exaggeration - I just counted. Handbags are the way I express myself. I have large, small, structured, oversize, crossbody, tote, mini, and everything in between - in nearly every color you can imagine. Founded in 2016 by best friends Jaquelyn Wang and Claudia Lin, the cult-following New York City-based brand is known for its color-popping handbags that are both minimal and enchanting. According to the founders, Apede Mod gets its origin from an ancient Egyptian god named Apedemak who stood for courage and independence and Mod, which symbolizes vitality and independence. "We want to combine fashion with utility for our creations," Lin told POPSUGAR. "Each bag from Apede Mod is designed with inspiration from vintage pieces, architecture, and modern culture."
