I Tried Old Navy's Matching Outfits For Humans and Their Furry Friends

I'm unashamed to admit that I am head-over-heels infatuated with my dog, Cooper. He's a sassy 2-year-old corgi who's obsessed with playing ball and anything chicken-flavored - plus, he's no stranger to a fashion photo shoot. So while perusing Old Navy's new arrivals recently, I came across a discovery that's too important to gatekeep: Old Navy has matching outfits for humans and their furry friends - and they're ridiculously cute. Enter the Sleeveless Linen-Blend Smocked Tie-Back Printed Maxi Shift Dress ($38, originally $45) and Printed T-Shirt & Bandana Set ($10, originally $18), both starring the retailer's "Blue Gingham" pattern. Ahead, get my full review on the matching pieces.

What I Like About This Maxi Dress and Set

Discovering these matching sets was a happy accident. While checking out the newness in the retailer's pet section, I noticed that the aforementioned Printed T-Shirt and Bandana Set had "Match the Fam" written next to the pattern's name. From there, I looked up "Blue Gingham" on Old Navy's search box and a ton of pieces populated, including women's tops and dresses, men's shirts, and children's wares, too. I was drawn to this maxi dress in particular for a few reasons: not only is it the perfect summer print, but I'm linen and long dress obsessed.

When I slipped it on in real life, I was equally as pleased. The linen-rayon blend is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable. As for the fit, it's breezy (without looking or feeling oversize), which is a godsend in scorching-hot temps. All elements of this dress considered, I think it's the quintessential summer dress; one that's both on trend (hello, cottagecore) and timeless.

We need to touch on Cooper's outfit, too, of course. I love how it comes with both a T-shirt and a bandana for $10. Even though both pieces are worn together in the marketing shots, I think I'll choose one or the other to keep him from feeling uncomfortable. I ordered a medium size (he's 32 pounds, FYI) in both the shirt and the bandana and thought we made the perfect choice.

What's Worth Noting

I ordered this dress in my usual size medium, and it fit in my hips but felt a bit big in the chest area. Other Old Navy shoppers have mentioned they've had some trouble with the sizing, too; a handful of reviewers mentioned that it was too tight in the hips or the chest. That said, if you can't see yourself without this dress, you may want to purchase two sizes to determine which one fits you best.

Another thing worth noting is that I'd say this dress is more of a weekend vibe than a weekday one. It boasts a plunging V-neck and slits up the legs that some may not find suitable for the office. But if you work from home like me, no worries!

One final note: This maxi dress also comes in a super-chic neutral shade - the only bummer is that the color isn't available in the doggie version.

Who Are These Pieces Best For?

I think this maxi dress is best for the gal that's looking for a versatile summer dress that can be dressed up or down. I teamed it with my Old Navy Linen-Blend Platform Sandals ($40) and a matching mini tote, but I also think it would pair well with sneakers or heels. And perhaps it's obvious, but the doggie T-shirt and bandana are best for pups (or cats, maybe?) who don't mind getting dressed up for a day on the town.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...

Katy Perry Takes Inspiration From "Kill Bill" in Yellow Moto Jacket and Low-Rise Jeans

Katy Perry is making the press rounds ahead of the upcoming season of "American Idol." On March 28, the competition judge and singer was spotted leaving "Good Morning America" in casual, off-duty street style that turned heads. She wore distressed, low-rise R13 Denim jeans that sat at her hips, as well as a white baby tee under a cropped leather Balenciaga jacket . With its thick black stripes running down the sleeves, the yellow race jacket was reminiscent of Uma Thurman 's iconic tracksuit in "Kill Bill." Wearing an assortment of rings on each of her left fingers, Perry also carried a yellow coffee cup with her other hand to match her jacket. As for the rest of her cool outfit, which was curated by stylist Tatiana Waterford , pointed black heels peeked out from the floor-length denim and sporty cat-eye sunglasses shielded the singer's eyes. The edgy ensemble was one of three outfits she wore on Tuesday. Perry arrived on the morning-show set ...
