Olivia Rodrigo Gave Her Lace Minidress a Cool Dark-Academia Twist

Olivia Rodrigo just nailed the lingerie-as-outerwear trend, following the lead of Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Rihanna. On Friday, Aug. 19, the singer was spotted in New York City, leaving a Chappell Roan concert at the Bowery Ballroom in a sultry LBD by Mirror Palais.

The silk mini features a balconette, lace-trimmed bust and takes a slight A-line shape. She gave the leg-baring design a dark-academia twist, teaming it with white crew socks and black tassel loafers. The styling choice played down the overall formality of the look, catering to her signature effortless-meets-edgy vibe. The 19-year-old forwent a necklace or earrings, but she accessorized with a few silver rings. Her wavy brown hair, red manicure, and pink lip were the finishing touches.
