Jaden Smith Wows in a Crop Top and Dollhouse Purse at PFW

On the final few days of Paris Fashion Week, celebrities stepped out in droves to turn heads in the front row at the fall 2023 runway shows. On Monday, March 6, Jaden Smith made a statement at Louis Vuitton, with onlookers doing a double take at both his outfit and handbag. Wearing a coordinated black-and-white denim cropped trucker jacket and pants, the 24-year-old star finished his look with chunky-soled black shoes, layered chain necklaces, and an LV luggage tag fastened to one of his breast pockets.

His handbag was the pièce de résistance, appearing to be more of a miniature dollhouse than a purse. While Smith's matching set would have turned heads all on its own due to its splashy graphic pattern and cropped silhouette, the accessory was a remarkable update. With a top handle made of LV's iconic light-toned leather, the bag is shaped like a house with hinges that allow both the sides and top to open. Smith shared the backstory on Instagram, writing, "Thank You @louisvuitton For Letting Me Hold This Amazing Piece, This Bag Is A Replica Of The House The Founder Of LV Lived In And Created His First Workshop For The Company In. And Thank You @nicolasghesquiere For Another Amazing Show."

Smith has always been a fashion-lover who challenges traditional gender norms by wearing dresses, crop tops, and skirts that some might consider feminine. And while there's a fair amount of retro streetwear to be seen from designer Nicolas Ghesquière's current spring 2023 menswear collection, there are plenty of tiered chiffon skirts, knife-pleated dresses layered beneath crop tops, and duster coats printed with electric lavender florals that would be in line with Smith's aesthetic.

Smith's latest outfit, however, seems to have been customized by Ghesquière. Just last season, he wore an equally headline-making look at the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion week in a mirrored crop top and low-rise jeans. With other celebrities in attendance at the fall 2023 Louis Vuitton show, like Zendaya, Chloë Grace Moretz, Serena Williams, Emma Stone, and more, it was a star-studded affair to be sure.
