The Visible-Bra Trend Is Taking Over, From Sydney Sweeney to Hailey Bieber

Sydney Sweeney has introduced one of the most prominent dress trends of the season at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Working with her stylist Molly Dickson, the "Euphoria" actress selected a long white Miu Miu slip for day one on the scene, which came with a built-in blue satin bra, halfway visible underneath the lined balconette of the bustier top. The boudoir-inspired look appeals to underwear-as-outerwear-lovers, reminiscent of lingerie. Of course, Sweeney amped up the drama with towering white platform sandals, but she also opted for delicate diamond stacking rings and earrings to play to the demure side of the ensemble.

This cleavage-baring silhouette - which is an evolution of the double-layered, exposed-bra-strap trend from the early aughts - isn't going anywhere. Scarlett Johansson sported a similar design from Prada, Miu Miu's sister brand, when she attended the "Asteroid City" premiere with husband Colin Jost just two days after Sweeney's debut. Her pink column gown featured a white beaded bralette insert, which was highlighted by her sprawling star-shaped earrings, glitter eyeshadow, and metallic manicure - all working to draw attention to the sparkling bra.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walked the same red carpet as Johansson in Fendi Couture - her thigh-slit gown also equipped with a sequin-woven bra insert, sitting pretty atop the gathered white fabric of her dress. The gilded side hook at her waist, which was fastened onto her train, accented her bra, chunky diamond ear cuffs, and Aquazzura shoes to bring her look full circle.

Meanwhile, Ashley Graham and Cindy Bruna are two other Cannes guests who rocked the half-visible bra, with Graham opting for a voluminous gray-blue gown with poufy sleeves and a neckline that barely concealed the top of her black bra insert. It was a more subtle take on the trend, with the focal point obviously being the cascading layers of material, along with her triple-strand Chopard choker, but befitting nonetheless. Bruna's own Vivienne Westwood polka-dot corset dress boasted avant-garde details, seemingly unfurling to reveal nude bra cups.

Most recently, Hailey Bieber embraced the trend on TikTok, sporting a gray bodycon dress with a black bra peeking out ever so slightly. She wore her hair slicked back and finished the look with gold earrings, pared-down makeup, and a glossy lip.

However you prefer the trend, there are clearly many iterations making the rounds when it comes to celebrity dressing. Scroll through to see the instances we've gathered so far.

I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you're into fashion and an avid TikTok scroller, you've probably come across the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans . People who got their hands on them are asking followers how they should style them - and even whether or not they should keep them. Those who are still on a waitlist or are simply curious about the trend are going so far as to DIY the jeans by taking a scissor to one leg of an old pair. I, on the other hand, dared to step into the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725), an alternative take on the same silhouette that's even more eye-catching (which, how is that possible?). These jeans were, without a doubt, one of the most polarizing looks I've ever worn - and I've tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims butt-enhancing shapewear to the brand's famous push-up nipple bra , and many a sheer naked dress . After wearing the jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (st...

Oh, to Be Pedro Pascal's Sparkly Cardigan

Never have we been more envious of an inanimate object than when Pedro Pascal stepped out in a sparkly cardigan this week. As soon as we saw him walking the streets of London wearing the glittery knit, we longed to swap places with it - to be enrobing the heartthrob, catching the attention of random passersby, sparking internet discourse, and ultimately taking responsibility for his style breakout. Pascal has been serving look after look while promoting " The Last of Us " season one and "The Mandalorian" season three this year, working with stylists Julie Ragolia and Fabio Immediato . His latest came on Feb. 23 when he arrived to a radio interview wearing the shiny cardigan in question: a long button-down sweater made of silver foil yarn and created by menswear label 4SDesigns. He layered it over a sheer brown tank top and finished the look with black pants, leather boots, and his usual chunky-framed glasses. Just one day prior, the actor stopped by a photo call...
